GALLERY

Christopher Germain draws inspiration from the work of both Antonio Stradivari and Joseph Guarneri del Gesu. Two of his favorite violin models are shown here.

Chris, thanks for the SUPERB! violin. I look forward to using it in a variety of solo and orchestra settings, including my performance of the Prokofiev violin concerto at the Lincoln Center.
All the best,
Paul Peabody, solo recording artist & member of the New York City Ballet Orchestra

Violas

Christopher Germain makes a number of different viola models, including a 16" personal model, a 16 1/4" Stradivari model and a Bros. Amati model, which measures 16 1/2".

In my opinion, Christopher Germain is one of the most gifted modern violin makers. I've purchased two of his violas and have found both of these instruments to be superior in appearance and tone.
The elements of excellent training and experience, extraordinary talent and choice of materials all contribute to the quality of his instruments. I am happy to recommend him as a maker of high integrity.

Cellos

Mr. Germain currently makes two cello models: a Stradivari forma B model which measures 29 3/4" long. This is Stradivari's most successful form — the one he used in the construction of the "Duport," the "Greenhouse" and others.

Shown here is a Francesco Rugieri model cello. This instrument is slightly shorter, but wider than the Stradivari model.

The back and sides are made from Lombardy Poplar, much like the original 1697 Rugieri cello.
